Greg chainsaw carved this birch bowl first getting the depth and shape. He then uses his grinder to smooth out the chainsaw marks, and the grinder is how he creates the wavelike patterning inside the bowl. This bowl unfortunately cracked during the drying process, so Greg inlayed walnut, box elder, and maple wood to the bottom making it functional again. He finishes all of his bowls using a butcher block and salad bowl finish by watco, making them functional as well as a piece of art.
